A little remote from the rest of the world,  the contemplative village Braknitsa is situated in the north-east of Bulgaria. It belongs to the government district Targovishte (about 50 km) and to the district town Popovo (about 20km).

Sheltered behind a stretch of land, it is nestled on the edge of a plateau between the Donau River and the Balkan Mountains. Only one road leads us into the idyllic village.  On the way, you will be overwhelmed by the magnificent mountain panorama that extends over the entire horizon.

The Balkan region is the cradle of culture that still characterizes us today. Once the home of Orpheus and the place of worship the god of antiquity, Dionysus.

Braknitsa was first documented 500 years ago. Immediately one is captivated by the energy of this spot and when, near the grasp, the milky way is shining in the near sky, you feel one with the universe.
